1. Overview
StreamCamera is a camera and monitoring app created by ARTHOUSE Studio. One device films, and a second device on the same network shows the same picture live so you can judge framing, focus, exposure and movement while the take is running.
StreamCamera also provides camera controls such as resolution and frame-rate selection, manual capture controls, Dual Camera capture on supported devices, a level tool, and recording on either the filming device, the monitoring device, or both.
StreamCamera does not require an ARTHOUSE Studio account. ARTHOUSE Studio does not operate a video service for StreamCamera, does not relay your stream through its servers, and does not receive, store or sell your video, audio or recordings.
2. Camera and microphone access
StreamCamera requests access to your device camera so it can show a live preview, send that picture to a monitoring device and record video.
StreamCamera requests access to your microphone so it can record audio with your video and show audio levels while you work.
The camera and microphone are used only while the app is running and you are using a feature that needs them. Camera and microphone data is used to produce the live preview, the stream sent to your own monitoring device and any recording you start.
StreamCamera does not perform facial recognition, does not identify people in the picture, and does not send video or audio to ARTHOUSE Studio.
3. Local network and device discovery
To connect two of your devices, StreamCamera requests access to the local network. It uses Apple's Bonjour service discovery to advertise itself and to find other devices running StreamCamera on the same network or connected by cable.
While discovery is active, StreamCamera advertises a service on the local network that includes a device name so you can tell your devices apart in the Nearby Devices list. Depending on how your device is named in iOS, iPadOS or macOS settings, that name may contain your own name.
This information is visible only on the local network you are connected to, or across the cable between the two devices. It is not sent to ARTHOUSE Studio, and it is not published to the internet.
Local network access is used for discovering and connecting to your devices only. StreamCamera does not scan your network to catalogue other equipment, and it does not attempt to connect to devices that are not running StreamCamera.
4. Streaming between your devices
When you start streaming, video and audio travel directly from the filming device to the monitoring device over your local Wi-Fi network, a direct device-to-device wireless link, or a USB cable, depending on the devices and the connection you choose.
The stream is a peer-to-peer connection between your own two devices. It is not uploaded to ARTHOUSE Studio, it is not relayed through an ARTHOUSE Studio server, and ARTHOUSE Studio cannot view, record or retain it.
Alongside the picture and sound, the two devices exchange a small amount of control information so the session can work. This may include the device name shown in the app, the app or protocol version, the selected stream quality, resolution and frame rate, connection and network path status, whether either device is currently recording, and requests to start or stop recording on the other device.
The security of a stream depends on the network you use. On a shared, public or untrusted Wi-Fi network, other people or equipment on that network may be able to observe network traffic. For sensitive material, use a private network you control, a direct connection between the two devices, or a cable.
5. Recordings and the Photos library
StreamCamera requests access to your Photos library so it can save the videos and photos you record, and so it can show a thumbnail of your most recent capture inside the app.
Recordings are saved to the Photos library of the device that made the recording. When you record on the filming device, the file is saved there. When you record on the monitoring device, the monitoring device saves what it received to its own Photos library.
Recording starts only when you, or the connected device you are working with, start it. StreamCamera does not record in the background without an active recording session started from one of your devices.
Once a recording is saved to Photos, it is an ordinary item in your photo library and is governed by your own device settings, including any iCloud Photos synchronization you have enabled. ARTHOUSE Studio does not receive a copy of your recordings.
6. Device motion and the level
StreamCamera reads the device motion sensors so it can show a horizon and level indicator, and so it can present the picture and controls correctly as you turn the device.
Motion readings are used only to draw the interface while you are using the app. They are not recorded into your video, not stored as a history, and not sent to ARTHOUSE Studio.
7. Device and storage information
StreamCamera reads information about the device it is running on so it can offer the correct features, such as which cameras and lenses are available, which resolutions, frame rates and codecs are supported, and whether the device supports Dual Camera capture.
While a recording is running, StreamCamera checks available storage space so it can warn you or stop a recording before the device runs out of room.
This information stays on the device and is used to operate the app's features.
8. App settings and preferences
StreamCamera stores your app preferences on the device so it can reopen in the state you left it. This may include the selected resolution, frame rate and codec, stream quality, camera and lens selection, mirroring, grid, level and other display options, recording options, and your Pro access state as reported by the App Store.
These settings are stored on the device in the app's own storage area. They are not sent to ARTHOUSE Studio.
9. Apple system services
StreamCamera relies on Apple frameworks and operating-system services for functionality such as camera capture, audio capture, video encoding and decoding, local network discovery, saving to Photos and App Store purchases.
When you choose to rate or review the app from within StreamCamera, the app asks Apple's public App Store lookup service for the app's App Store page address, then opens that page. This request identifies the app, not you.
Apple's own terms and privacy practices apply to Apple services used in this way, in addition to this policy.
10. App permissions
Depending on how you use StreamCamera, the app may request access to:
- Camera: to show a live preview, stream the picture to your monitoring device and record video.
- Microphone: to record audio with your video and display audio levels.
- Local Network: to discover and connect to your other device running StreamCamera.
- Photos: to save your recordings and photos, and to show your most recent capture in the app.
You can manage these permissions at any time in iOS, iPadOS or macOS Settings. Some StreamCamera features become unavailable if a required permission is disabled — for example, streaming between devices cannot work without local network access.
11. App Store purchases
StreamCamera includes free functionality and offers optional paid Pro access. The free version limits the length of recordings and streaming sessions; Pro removes those limits and unlocks additional features.
Paid options may include a monthly auto-renewable subscription, a yearly auto-renewable subscription and a Lifetime non-consumable purchase.
Purchases, subscription billing, payment processing, renewals, cancellations, refunds, Apple Account information and purchase management are handled by Apple through the App Store and are subject to Apple's own terms and privacy practices.
StreamCamera reads verified App Store entitlement and transaction information through StoreKit to determine whether Pro access should be enabled.
The app also provides purchase restoration so eligible previously purchased entitlements can be restored through Apple's App Store systems.
ARTHOUSE Studio does not receive your full payment card details from StreamCamera.
12. External links
StreamCamera or the StreamCamera website may open external pages when you choose to access support, privacy information, product information, help documentation, App Store pages or other resources.
External websites and services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
13. Information StreamCamera does not collect
In the current release, StreamCamera does not include:
- Third-party advertising inside the app.
- Third-party behavioral advertising trackers inside the app.

14. Support requests
If you contact ARTHOUSE Studio by email, website form or another support channel, we may receive the information you voluntarily provide.
This can include your name, email address, app version, device information, issue description, screenshots, attachments, sample recordings and messages.
We use support information to respond to your request, troubleshoot problems and improve our products.
Video, audio and screenshots may contain people, private surroundings, sound or other sensitive information. Please review files carefully before attaching them to a support request.
15. Data sharing
ARTHOUSE Studio does not sell StreamCamera user information.
Limited third-party services may be involved when you visit the ARTHOUSE Studio website, contact support, use email communication or interact with hosting and security infrastructure.
Apple separately processes information required for App Store purchases, camera, microphone, local network and Photos permissions, and other Apple platform services.
16. Data security
StreamCamera relies on iOS, iPadOS and macOS security mechanisms and Apple's application sandbox for app operation.
Because streaming happens over your own network, the privacy of a session also depends on the network you choose. We recommend using a private network you control, a direct connection between your devices, or a cable when filming sensitive material.
You are responsible for protecting your device, device passcode, Apple Account, network, backups and any recordings you export or share outside StreamCamera.
We recommend keeping your device operating system updated, using a strong device passcode and enabling Face ID or Touch ID where available.
17. Children’s privacy
StreamCamera is a camera and video production utility and is not specifically directed to children under the age required by applicable law.
ARTHOUSE Studio does not knowingly collect personal information from children through a StreamCamera account because StreamCamera does not require an ARTHOUSE user account.
18. Future connected features
Future versions of StreamCamera may introduce additional recording destinations, external storage support, cloud, synchronization, collaboration, remote connection or other connected functionality.
If a future feature changes how personal information, video or audio is processed, this Privacy Policy will be updated before or when that functionality is released.
19. Changes to this policy
We may update this StreamCamera Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date shown above.
