How FileCue handles your information.

FileCue is an iPhone app for scanning or importing documents, reading text on device, detecting useful details, creating tasks and setting reminders. This Privacy Policy explains what information FileCue stores locally, how OCR and reminders work, how App Store purchases are handled and what choices you have when using the app.

1. Overview

FileCue is a document organization app created by ARTHOUSE Studio. It helps users scan or import documents, extract readable text, identify useful details such as due dates, expiry dates, payment dates, amounts and document information, and manage follow-up tasks and reminders.

FileCue does not sell personal information. FileCue does not send your document images, extracted text, tasks, reminders or local document records to ARTHOUSE Studio servers for OCR processing or document storage.

2. Local-first app

The current release of FileCue is designed as a local-first iPhone app. It does not require an ARTHOUSE account, an online workspace or ARTHOUSE cloud storage to scan, import, organize or review your documents.

Your document records are created and managed on your device unless you choose to export, share, back up, move or transmit them outside the app.

3. Document images and extracted text

FileCue may store document images, compressed image data, extracted text, document titles, categories, document details, detected dates, detected amounts, task information, reminder settings, app preferences and similar working data on your device.

This information is used to provide document organization, OCR review, task suggestions, reminders, filtering, editing, sensitive-document handling and related app functionality.

4. On-device OCR

FileCue uses on-device text recognition to read text from selected or scanned document images. Document images are not uploaded to ARTHOUSE Studio servers for OCR processing.

OCR results may not always be perfect. You are responsible for reviewing detected text, dates, amounts, task suggestions and document details before relying on them.

5. Tasks, dates and reminders

FileCue may create or suggest tasks based on detected document information, such as due dates, payment dates, expiry dates, renewal dates or follow-up actions. You can also create, edit, complete or delete tasks manually.

If you enable notifications, FileCue may schedule local reminders on your device based on the dates and times you choose. Notification delivery depends on iOS notification settings, device state and Apple system behavior.

6. App permissions

Depending on how you use FileCue, the app may request access to:

  • Camera: to scan paper documents.
  • Photos: to import images, screenshots or saved scans you choose.
  • Notifications: to send local task and reminder alerts.

You can manage these permissions in iOS Settings. If you disable a permission, some FileCue features may not work until permission is granted again.

7. Sensitive documents

FileCue is designed for personal records that may contain sensitive information, including passports, ID cards, driving licenses, bank cards, insurance documents, bills, receipts, contracts and official letters.

FileCue may show privacy notices for sensitive document types and can hide sensitive document images behind tap-to-reveal controls. These features are intended to reduce accidental exposure while you are using the app, but they do not replace device-level security.

8. App Store purchases

FileCue may offer free features and optional paid upgrades such as FileCue Pro Lifetime. Purchases, billing, payment processing, refunds, Apple ID information and purchase management are handled by Apple through the App Store and are subject to Apple’s own terms and privacy practices.

FileCue may check App Store entitlement or transaction information to determine whether a valid purchase is active. ARTHOUSE Studio does not receive your full payment card details from FileCue.

FileCue or the FileCue website may open external links when you choose to access support pages, product pages, privacy information, App Store pages or help resources. External websites and services are governed by their own privacy policies.

10. Information FileCue does not collect

In the current release, FileCue does not include:

  • Advertising or third-party ad tracking inside the app.
  • ARTHOUSE account login inside the app.
  • Automatic upload of your document images to ARTHOUSE Studio servers.
  • Server-side OCR by ARTHOUSE Studio.
  • Location tracking.
  • Microphone access.
  • Contact-list collection.
  • Collection of your document records for sale to advertisers or data brokers.

11. Support requests

If you contact ARTHOUSE Studio for support by email, website form or another support channel, we may receive the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, product name, issue description, screenshots, attachments and messages. We use this information to respond to your request and improve our products.

Please avoid sending sensitive document images, bank card details, passport numbers, ID numbers or other private records in support requests unless specifically needed and you are comfortable sharing them.

12. Data sharing

We do not sell FileCue user information. We may use limited service providers for website hosting, email communication, security, support or website operation when you contact us or visit our website. Apple handles App Store purchases separately.

13. Data security

FileCue stores app data locally on your device. You are responsible for protecting your iPhone, device passcode, Apple ID, backups and any files you export or share outside the app.

We recommend keeping iOS updated, using a strong device passcode, enabling Face ID or Touch ID where available, and using safe backup practices for important records.

14. Children’s privacy

FileCue is intended as a productivity and document organization tool. It is not directed to children under the age required by applicable law, and ARTHOUSE Studio does not knowingly collect personal information from children through FileCue.

15. Future online or cloud features

Future versions of FileCue may add online services, iCloud-related features, sync, backup, AI-powered tools or other connected functionality. If those features are introduced, this Privacy Policy will be updated before or when those features are released.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this FileCue Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above.
