1. Overview

Exif Pro is a photo metadata utility created by ARTHOUSE Studio. It allows you to inspect information stored in or associated with photos, including EXIF data, camera and lens information, capture settings, dates, dimensions, ratings, location information, descriptive metadata and other supported metadata fields.

Exif Pro also provides tools for editing or removing supported metadata, organizing photos using metadata-derived Smart Albums, inspecting source and attribution information, and reviewing available AI and provenance evidence.

Exif Pro does not sell your personal information or photo metadata. ARTHOUSE Studio does not operate a cloud photo library for Exif Pro and does not automatically upload your photo library to ARTHOUSE Studio servers.

2. Photo Library access

Exif Pro requests access to your Photos library so it can display photos you choose to inspect and provide metadata, organization and editing features.

Depending on the permissions you grant through iOS, Exif Pro may be able to access all photos in your library or only the photos you specifically select.

Exif Pro uses Photo Library access to display images, read available metadata, build supported Smart Albums, inspect photo properties and perform actions that you explicitly request.

ARTHOUSE Studio does not receive a copy of your entire photo library merely because you grant Exif Pro access to Photos.

3. Photo metadata

Exif Pro may read metadata and properties associated with photos available through the system Photo Library or selected image resources.

Depending on the photo and file format, this information may include:

  • Camera manufacturer and camera model.
  • Lens manufacturer and lens model.
  • Aperture, shutter speed, ISO and focal length.
  • Capture date and modification date.
  • Image dimensions, orientation and file properties.
  • GPS coordinates and related location metadata.
  • Copyright, creator and descriptive metadata.
  • Ratings or organization information supported by the app.
  • EXIF, IPTC, TIFF and other supported metadata fields.
  • Source, attribution or provenance information when available.

Exif Pro uses this information to provide the features you see inside the app. Metadata availability varies by image, device, image format and the software that created or modified the image.

4. Metadata editing and removal

Exif Pro includes tools that allow you to edit or remove supported photo metadata.

Metadata is modified only when you initiate an editing or removal action. Depending on the operation and limitations of iOS Photos, Image I/O, file formats or other system APIs, Exif Pro may create or save an updated image or metadata representation through Apple's supported photo-management mechanisms.

Before relying on metadata changes for legal, evidentiary, archival or professional purposes, you should independently verify the resulting file and metadata.

5. Location information

Photos may already contain geographic coordinates or other location metadata. Exif Pro can display supported location metadata associated with those photos.

Viewing location metadata already contained in a photo does not require Exif Pro to determine your current physical location.

Exif Pro requests access to your current location only when you choose a feature that needs it, such as adding your current location to a photo's metadata.

Exif Pro does not use this permission for continuous background location tracking.

Exif Pro may also allow supported photos to contain or display multiple location-related metadata entries or pins where the app's metadata model supports them.

6. Smart Albums and organization

Exif Pro can organize or group photos using metadata-derived information such as camera model, lens model, ratings and other supported properties.

These Smart Album and filtering features are generated from information available to Exif Pro through your device and Photo Library. ARTHOUSE Studio does not require your photo library to be uploaded to an ARTHOUSE server in order to build these collections.

Exif Pro may also store app preferences such as which Smart Albums are enabled, which metadata sections are visible, pinned metadata fields and other display or organization settings.

7. AI and provenance analysis

Exif Pro can inspect supported photos for information that may indicate how an image was created, edited or processed.

Depending on the image and available evidence, Exif Pro may display information such as AI-related metadata, creator or editing tools, provenance assertions, content labels, attribution information or other supported evidence.

Exif Pro may recognize labels or metadata indicating that an image was AI-generated or edited with AI when such information is present and readable.

These features analyze available evidence. They should not be interpreted as a guarantee that Exif Pro can determine with certainty whether every image was or was not created or edited using artificial intelligence.

8. Content Credentials and C2PA

Exif Pro can inspect supported Content Credentials and C2PA provenance information contained in or associated with an image.

This may include available information about creators, applications, devices, credential issuers, editing actions, assertions, ingredients, signing information or other provenance data supported by the image and C2PA format.

Content Credentials are provided by the image, credential issuer, signing system or software involved in the image's creation or editing. ARTHOUSE Studio does not independently guarantee the accuracy of all third-party provenance claims.

An absence of Content Credentials does not prove that an image is authentic, unedited or not AI-generated. Likewise, the presence of provenance information should be interpreted in the context of the evidence available for that image.

9. Apple system services

Exif Pro relies on Apple frameworks and operating-system services for functionality such as Photo Library access, image handling, location access and App Store purchases.

Where an Exif Pro feature uses Apple Intelligence or another Apple-provided intelligent system capability, processing and related privacy protections are governed by Apple's system implementation and privacy practices in addition to this policy.

Exif Pro does not operate its own remote AI service for uploading your photo library to ARTHOUSE Studio servers.

10. App permissions

Depending on how you use Exif Pro, the app may request access to:

  • Photo Library: to display, inspect, organize and edit photo metadata.
  • Location When In Use: only when you choose to use your current location for a supported metadata action.

You can manage these permissions at any time in iOS or iPadOS Settings. Some Exif Pro features may become unavailable if the required permission is disabled.

11. App Store purchases

Exif Pro includes free functionality and may offer optional paid Pro access.

Paid options may include a monthly auto-renewable subscription, a yearly auto-renewable subscription and a Lifetime non-consumable purchase.

Purchases, subscription billing, payment processing, renewals, cancellations, refunds, Apple Account information and purchase management are handled by Apple through the App Store and are subject to Apple's own terms and privacy practices.

Exif Pro may read verified App Store entitlement and transaction information through StoreKit to determine whether Pro access should be enabled.

The app also provides purchase restoration so eligible previously purchased entitlements can be restored through Apple's App Store systems.

ARTHOUSE Studio does not receive your full payment card details from Exif Pro.

12. External links

Exif Pro or the Exif Pro website may open external pages when you choose to access support, privacy information, product information, App Store pages or other resources.

External websites and services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

13. Information Exif Pro does not collect

In the current release, Exif Pro does not include:

  • Third-party advertising inside the app.
  • Third-party behavioral advertising trackers inside the app.
  • An ARTHOUSE account or Exif Pro account requirement.
  • Continuous background location tracking.
  • Microphone recording.
  • Contact-list collection.
  • Automatic upload of your complete photo library to ARTHOUSE Studio servers.
  • Sale of your photos or photo metadata to advertisers or data brokers.

14. Support requests

If you contact ARTHOUSE Studio by email, website form or another support channel, we may receive the information you voluntarily provide.

This can include your name, email address, app version, device information, issue description, screenshots, attachments and messages.

We use support information to respond to your request, troubleshoot problems and improve our products.

Photos and screenshots may contain private metadata, geographic coordinates or other sensitive information. Please review files carefully before attaching them to a support request.

15. Data sharing

ARTHOUSE Studio does not sell Exif Pro user information.

Limited third-party services may be involved when you visit the ARTHOUSE Studio website, contact support, use email communication or interact with hosting and security infrastructure.

Apple separately processes information required for App Store purchases, Photo Library permissions, location permissions and other Apple platform services.

16. Data security

Exif Pro relies on iOS and iPadOS security mechanisms and Apple's application sandbox for app operation.

You are responsible for protecting your device, device passcode, Apple Account, backups and any photos or files you export or share outside Exif Pro.

We recommend keeping your device operating system updated, using a strong device passcode and enabling Face ID or Touch ID where available.

17. Children’s privacy

Exif Pro is a photography and metadata utility and is not specifically directed to children under the age required by applicable law.

ARTHOUSE Studio does not knowingly collect personal information from children through an Exif Pro account because Exif Pro does not require an ARTHOUSE user account.

18. Future connected features

Future versions of Exif Pro may introduce additional cloud, synchronization, AI, provenance, collaboration, backup or connected functionality.

If a future feature changes how personal information or photo content is processed, this Privacy Policy will be updated before or when that functionality is released.

19. Changes to this policy

We may update this Exif Pro Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date shown above.
