1. Overview

Contact Manager is a contact-management utility created by ARTHOUSE Studio. It helps you work with contacts available on your Mac, including tools for contact health, smart groups, events, tags, bulk cleanup, imports, exports, backups and sharing.

Contact Manager does not sell your contact information. Its core contact-management features are designed to work with data on your Mac and through the Apple services you have configured. It does not require an ARTHOUSE Studio account to manage your local contacts.

2. Contacts access

Contact Manager requests access to your contacts only so it can provide the features you choose to use. Apple controls this permission, and you can grant, deny or later change it in macOS Settings.

When access is granted, Contact Manager can read the contact records available to it through Apple’s Contacts framework. The precise set of contacts available may depend on the accounts, contact sources and permissions configured on your Mac.

If access is not granted, features that need Contacts data—such as browsing, creating, editing, analyzing, backing up or sharing contacts—may be unavailable.

3. Contact data

Depending on the fields present in a contact and the access Apple provides, Contact Manager may read and display contact information such as:

  • Names, prefixes, suffixes, nicknames and organizations.
  • Phone numbers, email addresses and website addresses.
  • Postal addresses, birthdays, dates and relationships.
  • Social profiles and instant-message addresses where supported.
  • Contact images or thumbnails when you allow the app to use them.
  • Groups, labels and other contact information supported by Apple’s Contacts framework.

Contact Manager uses this information to render contact records, search and sort contacts, identify data-quality issues, build smart groups, prepare exports and perform actions you request.

4. Creating and editing contacts

Contact Manager creates, edits, deletes, merges, tags or repairs contact information only when you request an applicable action. Changes to contacts are made through Apple’s Contacts framework and are subject to the accounts and sync settings on your Mac.

If you use iCloud Contacts or another contact account, changes you make may sync according to that account’s settings and the privacy practices of its provider. ARTHOUSE Studio does not operate or control those account-sync services.

5. Imports and exports

Contact Manager can import contact information from files you choose, such as supported vCard or CSV files. It reads those files only to preview, validate, import or otherwise perform an action you explicitly request.

When you export or share contacts, Contact Manager creates a file containing the contact information selected for that action. You control the destination and the service or app that receives it. Exported or shared files may contain sensitive personal information, so please choose recipients and storage locations carefully.

6. Contact photos

Contact Manager may display contact photos or thumbnails when they are available in your contacts and you enable photo display. It may also process an image that you choose when adding or replacing a contact photo.

Image processing for a contact-photo action is performed to prepare the image for the contact record. Contact Manager does not automatically upload contact photos to ARTHOUSE Studio as part of this feature.

7. Local safety features

Contact Manager may create local backup, recycle-bin, activity report, smart-group or preference data to provide the safety, history and organization features you choose to use. These records can include copies or descriptions of relevant contact information needed for those features.

This app-managed data is stored in the app’s local container on your Mac unless a feature clearly tells you otherwise. You can remove applicable backup or recycle-bin items using the app’s controls. Your normal macOS and backup configuration may also affect how local app data is backed up.

8. Sharing and external actions

When you select Share, Message, Email, Call, open a link or use a similar action, Contact Manager may ask macOS to open an Apple system service or another app with the information needed for your requested action.

Once you choose a receiving app, account or service, that third party’s privacy policy and your chosen settings apply to the information you send. Contact Manager does not control how a receiving service handles shared contact data.

9. Apple system services

Contact Manager relies on Apple frameworks and operating-system services for contact access, file selection, sharing, external actions and App Store purchases. Apple’s privacy practices also apply to those system services.

The app may use StoreKit to obtain product information, process a purchase requested by you, restore eligible purchases and determine whether paid features should be available.

10. App permissions

Depending on the features you use, Contact Manager may request access to:

  • Contacts: to view, organize, create, edit, analyze, back up, import, export and share contacts.
  • Files you select: to import contacts or save exported contact files at locations you choose.

You can manage app permissions in macOS Settings. Disabling a required permission may prevent the related feature from working.

11. App Store purchases

Contact Manager includes free functionality and may offer optional paid Pro features. Purchases, billing, renewals, cancellations, refunds, Apple Account information and payment processing are handled by Apple through the App Store.

Contact Manager may read verified StoreKit product, entitlement and transaction information to determine whether Pro features should be enabled and to restore eligible purchases. ARTHOUSE Studio does not receive your full payment-card details through Contact Manager.

12. Information we do not collect

In the current version, Contact Manager does not include:

  • Third-party advertising based on your contact data.
  • Sale of your contact data to advertisers or data brokers.
  • An ARTHOUSE Studio account requirement for contact management.
  • Automatic upload of your complete contact list to ARTHOUSE Studio servers.
  • Microphone recording or background location tracking.

13. Support requests

If you contact ARTHOUSE Studio by email, website form or another support channel, we may receive the information you voluntarily provide, such as your name, email address, app version, macOS version, issue description, screenshots, attachments and messages.

Screenshots, diagnostics and exported contact files can contain sensitive personal information. Please review attachments and remove or obscure data that you do not want to share before sending a support request.

14. Data sharing

ARTHOUSE Studio does not sell Contact Manager user information. Contact Manager does not automatically disclose your contact data to ARTHOUSE Studio for its core contact-management features.

Limited third-party services may be involved when you visit the ARTHOUSE Studio website, contact support, use email or choose a sharing destination. Apple separately processes information required for Contacts permissions, configured contact accounts, App Store transactions and other Apple platform services.

15. Data security

Contact Manager relies on macOS security mechanisms, the app sandbox and Apple’s Contacts framework for app operation. You are responsible for protecting your Mac, user account, device passcode, Apple Account, backups, exported files and any contact information you share with others.

We recommend keeping macOS updated, using a strong account password and reviewing which apps and services can access your contacts.

16. Children’s privacy

Contact Manager is a productivity and contact-management utility and is not specifically directed to children under the age required by applicable law.

Contact Manager does not require an ARTHOUSE Studio account to manage contacts. ARTHOUSE Studio does not knowingly collect personal information from children through such an account.

17. Future connected features

Future versions of Contact Manager may introduce additional cloud, synchronization, collaboration, backup, support or connected features. If a future feature materially changes how personal information is processed, this Privacy Policy will be updated before or when that feature is released.

18. Changes to this policy

We may update this Contact Manager Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date shown above.
